If you don't know me by now... where've you been???
Simply put: I love women, fantasy/horror, and "alternative" art. MARQUIS' BROTHEL is a combination of these elements, made for those who share that same love... I photograph female models, and then spend hours digitally retouching the images until I'm finally satisfied with every curve, color, shadow and border. As "On Mark Productions," my model-actress wife Ryli Morgan and I have been among the featured guests at horror conventions up and down the US east coast since 2002. We've established a worldwide fan base on account of our independent films and music (for more details, visit createtolive.com). Although we'll continue to promote those earlier works both on and off the road, MARQUIS' BROTHEL is now our main focus.

My story...? Well, I've had a keen interest in fine art nearly all my life (my first gallery exhibition was a string painting I did in Kindergarten), with charcoal drawing quickly becoming my own preferred medium. I honed this talent with art classes and photo study throughout high school, and then focused on commissioned portraits in my 20's. Though always a perfectionist, back then I didn't bother "finishing" an image with a background because I'd already exhausted myself - and, quite often, my interest in the piece - with an overly detailed main subject. With age comes patience, however, and I gradually began to focus just as much - if not more so - on what was behind that main subject as I did on it. The trick, still, was finding just the right balance of light and dark to make this rather limiting black & white medium as eye-catching and vibrant as possible.

I've often said that I don't consider photography "art," but rather a means to create art. Thus, in late 2015, I turned my creative focus to photography (something my late grandfather loved) and digital retouching. This proved to be even more enjoyable and rewarding than both drawing and filmmaking. I'd already photographed Ryli on numerous occasions... Working with several more models was just a natural progression, which soon led to the creation of MARQUIS' BROTHEL.

These are beauties for the beast in each of us... Who's YOUR favorite?

2017 Update:
By popular demand, I recently combined past t-shirt designs I'd created from our album covers and movie stills/art into the MARQUIS' BROTHEL collection - each one just as visually striking or provocative as my "brothel" of models. Enjoy!
